Aldi Medion Bluetooth Soundbar with Wireless Subwoofer $129

50

I was looking for a soundbar for a long time, and couldn't find a cheap and satisfied one. I am not sure if it is a good deal or not. Any comments on this one?

It may be a lot of things, but cheap isn't one of those.

  • 30 Watts is nothing. Pity, it looks decently ported. It might fit under the couch. Any idea of height?

  • Separating into two speakers is pretty cool.

  • The subwoofer is wireless! None of the other two listed in the above comments are!

The Sony and the Philips also don't support HDMI CEC or ARC!

And it cost nothing but time and some petrol to get to Aldi to find out what it's like as it has the 60 day satisfaction guarantee!

(So no questions asked return if you dont like it)…

It's worth a try. Sherwood made a similar under couch style ported subwoofer a long time ago… around 60W and it was fairly decent, especially in a flat or bedroom scenario.

I am not sure if it is a good deal or not.

Then why did you post it as a bargain and not just ask the question in the forums ?

  • Buy it, try it and if you don't like it, return it.

I bought a similar Aldi soundbar, subwoofer looks identical although speakers couldn't be separated. Speakers sounded a bit muffled(no tweeters just single drivers), subwoofer is not very powerful and the diameter lends itself more to mid-woofer than an actual sub.

The subwoofer is wireless, you still have to plug it into power so you are limited to were you can position it. Being wireless the subwoofer was susceptible to interference and as result every now and then the subwoofer would make a popping noise.

They sound better than crappy TV speakers but for that money there are better alternatives, such as the Phillips(which has drivers and tweeters for clearer sound) and Sony(not sure of specs but pretty sure it also has tweeters and drivers) which were mentioned earlier.
