Target has them for $5. They do tend to wear out reasonably fast, but they are $5. Free delivery for orders $75+, Postage will probably be ~$10-15 otherwise. I find their delivery is not all that fast though (~1 week)

I haven't seen GOOD t-shirts for a long time. i.e. Thick 100% cotton - that doesn't cling tight, show body hair, or make you sweaty & sticky (like Bonds do).
If quality isn't a concern, K-Mart. I bought some a few months ago @ $6 each. They had $7 ones too, but I can't remember what the difference was now. Buy one size bigger though because they shrink.
Or… Find a place that does screenprinting. I've seen two or three do this now - when they can't get a particular shirt style/brand any longer - and because groups that place orders usually want all the same style shirt. So if the shop only has say 5 left of a particular style, they put all those few odd ones out on a rack for sale. (Plus any that had some kind of printing mistake of course.)

Have you tried Cotton-On? Their shirts are free of logos and screenprints, and the fabric doesn't pill. Their physical stores tend to have men's on one side of the store, women's on the other.
Hit and miss with the pilling. I got some henley's that pilled quick, however I have other C-O henleys that are all good.

Target ,with collar, and 3 front buttons, made of the sport type t shirt material. They are very good for hospitality when you are required to wear black and for summer(short sleves) They do not fade if washed in cold water.
