How do you record your TV shows? What equipment? What service?

I currently have Beyondwiz system with IceTV subscription. However, as per the email today from IceTV, they are now in Voluntary Admin. My Bluray player died only a month ago and we've been watching DVD's via HDMI through the laptop.

IceTV was great. It allowed recording set up on my phone app for series, msgs re what I might like to watch etc, and at $79 pa, it was reasonable.

I want to know who is happy with their current system/set up and what you use.

All ideas/comments welcomed.

I use a Beyonwiz T3. I simply use the normal EPG and set recording from there. I can also stream live tv and recordings (and download them) to tablets and phones using the T3. To add to that, the Beyonwiz Apps and web ui let me set timers and more from my phones/tablets and computer.

Which TV shows are you watching that you record? I assume I don't need to explain to you how Netflix etc work?

If I want to record it just to watch once on TV then I'll use my STB's DVR. If I want to record something to keep for a while or to then do video editing from I use my PC with a $20 USB TV Tuner and the software that came with it.

    • So are you saying you find the show online to watch? Or you just manually set up the record on your DVR? No remote app to set the recordings?
