Cheap Inspiron Desktops - $239 - Built in Wi-Fi and HDMI out - Ideal for Media Pc's or Equivalent

Hi all,

I don't know if this is deserving of a deal or not, so thought I'd post it on the forums first.

There are 3 computers on the DELL outlet that are $239. They've got 4GB of RAM and - literally - the cheapest Celeron that money could buy, but should be able to decode your videos fairly well for your TV. They've got HDMI out as well from what I understand, plus bluetooth and wireless, which is pretty cool.

Review plus pictures is here:

Also, my site categorizes the computers and works better on mobiles etc, and it also details these machines (sorted most expensive to least expensive)

For those of you who don't know, if you want one, you have to quote the bundle number to DELL live chat and they will send you an invoice, then you pay for it, etc etc. Any questions, ask.

  • I suppose it depends what you're going to do with it. I'd just get something like the ainol mini pc for $99. CPU is 10% slower

    • The thermal throttling will make it even slower though. Benchmarks only tell half the story.

The Dells will have active cooling, SATA hard disks and 4GB of RAM, but the Ainol will be passively cooled, has EMMC memory and 2GB of non-upgradable RAM.

So the Inspirons will more capable than the AINOL will although most people would still find the Dells sluggish if attempting to multi-task (only has 2 threads). You get what you pay for.
