The guideline is, if you aren't interested in the deal, don't vote.

Negatives are for problems with the deal and problems with the posting.

      Revoking your negative

      • just saying bad quality tvs at prices close to if not more than quality brands

        • Um. Where can you find brand name TVs at similar, let alone lower prices?

Seriously, if you know, submit a new deal. Those would be huge bargains.

          • @[Deactivated]: samsung 32" was 499 over boxing day weekend and toshiba 46" was $1098

            • @aussman: I'm having trouble finding either deal posted here.

There was a Toshiba for $1181. Can't find anything on a Samsung 32" Full HD, let alone one with a built in DVD player…

And you can't get the Toshiba for that any more.

@[Deactivated]: there is a difference between cheap and good value
they are not a good deal not a great reduction
for a fair comparison look at vivo tvs dse brand

                32" full hd $599
                50" FULL HD plasma $999
                42" hd plasma $599

so what is special about jb prices to me nothing they are probably out of same factory

                • @aussman: I agree, but you said:

"just saying bad quality tvs at prices close to if not more than quality brands"

Not "It's similar to other cheap TVs".

On top of that, the only compataive deal I can see there is the $999 Full HD Plasma - which is $100 more expensive at DSE. The 32" full HD LCD from DSE doesn't have a DVD player, so again the JB deal is better. There's no 42" in this deal, and there's no counter point to the 46" HD LCD TV…

I'm still not sure why you think this is a bad deal.

                  • @[Deactivated]: definitely not a bad deal.

personally i wouldnt buy a soniq tv though. seen them in the stores, the picture isnt too crash hot.

                • @aussman: The 50" FULL HD plasma on DSE's site state max resolution at 1135x768! :-|

                  • @Mr Minit: Same as JB's.

The "Full HD" is really talking about the tv tuner - it's HD not SD.

Yeah it's kind scummy, but sadly everyone does it.

omg i think my screen just smashed when i visited the jb website!

  • I'm tempted to pick up the 50" plasma for my mum…

If anyone knows of a better deal for a better tv at similar price plz let me know ;) Thanx

A cheap product at a cheap price isn't necessarily a good deal. A more expensive but higher quality tv could, and most likely to be, a better deal.

    • 999 fir full hd vivo at dse i'm sure you could still bargain

Aussman. Do you know you can get a deal on these from DSE or are you just guessing. I think the latter. Will DSE negotiate, when there is no comparison price. You weaken all your arguments when you just add nonsense.

The same argument can be said of JB. You can always attempt to bargain, you maybe successful you may not. So again your point is spurious unless you can back it up by giving a concrete example we could all use, and that's what we encourage here., is people sharing about what bargains can be found. No one forces anyone to take them, its just information. So information that helps is great.

  • That Sonic 50" is excellent value for money, you really cant go wrong.

  • used to have a 42 soniq, ran flawlessly till i upgraded so id say 50 is a top deal yep.

    • I still have my old 42" (with analog tuner) and its great as second TV still crystal clear and looks great with HD settop box, I'll keep it till it dies. (replaced it with a 54" Panasonic)

I don't want to knock the poster here as the deal is not that bad but poor quality products on special are not a bargain for anyone… 6-12 months and they are in the bin """unless you are lucky""".
Every time I see a Kogan advertised anywhere I cough… come on, we should know by now that buying garbage at any price is foolish!!
Do yourself a favour and spend a few bucks more and go for a bit of quality with some decent back up service, it will be a bargain in the long run.

    • agree 100% some are not even 10% off so they are not really discounted cheap yum cha tvs
