After hundreds if not thousands of LG G4's were sold over the past few weeks, I think it would be good to talk about the phone and pre-existing owners of the G4 could give tips to the newly bought G4 owners. I also have a question about the screen durability, I've read its weak and very fragile and people say a tempered glass screen protector is almost necessary. Is this true, do I really need one? With previous phones (eg nexus 4) I haven't needed a screen protector and generally I don't drop my phones very often.

    I am also the one who recently bought LG G4 on Ebay from Quality Deals. So far, I am loving the phone. The battery time is really great.

    I used to have phone always covered. However, recently i have stopped using it. I try to be careful while using phone. So I am not using any cover / protector at all.

    I am happy that my logitech +Drive mount works on the G4 leather case. Just have to insert the magnetic adapter inside.

    The only negative is that no wireless charging. Need to purchase a Qi card.

    The screen protector is already starting to peel off. I need to make decision whether to get the tempered screen or not.

    LG G4 owners that like the idea of this thread should head over to xda-developers.com, search for your device in the search box and you will find the general, help questions and accessories forums and well as ROMs and software if that floats your boat.

    Every phone I've owned I've dropped and broken the glass. I hated cases but soon learnt that it can get pretty expensive buying and repairing phones. I decided to use a Verus hard drop case and a Tagg tempered glass cover. My feels like a tank now! I've dropped it from over metre the other day and no signs of damage to the phone or case so i'm really happy with my case. Its a bit bulky but if it's going to protect my phone then i'm more than happy.

      Does the tempered glass affect the screen in responding to touch or is it almost unnoticeable?

        Unnoticeable! And from what I can tell it doesn't affect touch capabilities at all.

    One thing I've heard about quadbeat 3. The earphone tips that come with the earphone are not that good. If you can get a good fit, it's fine but if not, try using different earphone tips. It's worth the effort so I've heard.

    I can highly suggest the Otterbox commuter case, I got it from the case store in australia, for $45, cheapest i could find anyway.

    I also suggest a tempered glass screen protector, got it off ebay, I got the $12 dollar ones, the one with rounded edges, prob should have purchased the $4 one, but got suckered in to the rounded edges.

    Love the phone.

    What i have done as well is purchased a cheap bluetooth mouse and keyboard, make the phone use more efficent to use at work and is less visable

    have also purchaed a Slimport cable off ebay but it didnt work well, think the mirco USB port part of the cable is a bit too cheap. Slimporting your phone onto you TV or computer screen is pretty cool.

      Is the Otterbox Commuter case OK to use with the leather back phone?

      Or did you get the non-leather version?

    Cheap Bumper Case - AU$2.52
    I'm also the guy who breaks a lot of phones, so with this I went with a tempered glass screen protector (I don't really know if it will help in a drop?), and I wanted some type of bumper case, so not to hide the beautiful brown leather back… I ordered this one (in red) the same day the same day I ordered the phone (30/09) and the estimated delivery was 22/10 - 03/11. So I was a bit shocked when it arrived today (earlier than the earliest estimated date), and was so please with it, I have just ordered a second one in black. Best $2.52 case I have ever purchased.
    I'm not going to deliberately try it, but I am confident it will be safe in a fall.

    PS It is just a Bumper, no clear back like some "bumper" cases.

    So I bought this phone from the recent Ebay sale, I'm still not 100% sold on it, but I was wondering, has anyone rooted theirs? And if you have, aren't you worried about if you need to make a warranty claim in the future?

    Received my Red Leather G4 yesterday from recent QD_AU deal. Happy so far. Missing my pure google experience from nexus 5 though but putting on the Google Now launcher helps.

    I want to buy a better protective but thin case. So many ebay options out there that look quite good. Any recommendations for anyone would be appreciated.

    Fantastic phone.
    Recently fitted with the Verus Verge case and the Nilkin H+ tempered glass protector and both work well together and looks great. Went with the Nilkin as it has two rear Camera protectors.
    With this case I use the plastic back on the phone, to save the leather back, as you can't see the back with the case on anyway!
    I've used the otterbox defender previously but found it too chunky - the Verus verge is very slim for a dual layer case.

    I dont use any protectors on this phone and I literally threw it 2 metres in the air accidentally and it landed with the battery flying out and the case falling apart. No screen damage at all… I was waling down a flight of stairs and lost my balance while reading the phone.. idiot, but yeah… no isses with stock and no protector. I think the curved glass actually helped. THis phone rocks!

    I'd like to get a new leather cover though.. anyone know where to get a new cover?? I can't see any deals specifically for the leather covers…
