    • is it genuine copy link?

      • The link in the 2nd comment is the microsoft website. Is it the version of XP you need?

        • i need is dell windows xp installation kit. which just come boot able disk with no keys because laptop has key sticker which will make it genuine. i think this link for update xp sp3 if u have genuine software downloaded.

        • @Zonty:

Do you need the home or pro version of xp?

You can download the drivers for you laptop from here. http://www.dell.com/support/home/au/en/audhs1?c=au&l=en&s=dh…

  • Any OEM Windows XP disk will work, does not need to be Dell, just have to select Home or Pro. Is it Home or Pro?

    • It used to be the case that a registration code would only work with a particular run of installation CDs. Did MS change that!?

      • No, always like this for XP. There are 7 types of discs that I can remember- OEM Pro, Retail Pro, Upgrade Pro, Volume Pro, OEM Home, Retail Home, Upgrade OEM.

OEM is the same for HP, Dell, etc. as well as the System Builder kits you can buy, they are all OEM.

The only other difference to the discs are the service pack level- RTM, SP1, SP1a, SP2, SP3 but should not affect key.

If I knew if OP is looking for Home or Pro, then I could point in the right direction.

  • BTW… As MS don't update XP for general users, there are CD images online compiled by people who integrate the fixes that ARE still being released by MS for corporate clients. In other words, anything you download from MS will be a lesser product. (Not that that is anything new.)
