[Price Error] 10pc McBites + Small Frozen McSpider + Large Fries/Garden Salad/Crunchy Slaw for $2 @ McDonald's

Moved to Forum: Original Link

EDIT: seems to not work for others
must be a local glitch. Mod update or remove if necessary

This was done at forest lake QLD

As 10 pack chicken mcbites are normally $2 (loose change menu) by itself why not get a small mcspider and a large side extra for the same price

Here's how:

1. On a self service machine, order 10PC McBites in a Large meal
This will set the price to $3.65

2. Choose a small frozen McSpider (coke, fanta, grape, etc)
Now here is where you can change the price. There are drinks that increase the price and some that decrease the price depending on size and type of drink.
I didnt have time to go through all of them but I found that a small frozen McSpider will take off $1.65 and set the price to $2

3. Choose your side
Either large fries, garden salad or crunch slaw
Pick what you like

Enjoy

This is the thread we've been waiting a year for… scoots to McDonalds

    • Just tried at maccas bankstown and I got $6 something

No wonder McDonalds banned us… ;)

Get it today because it wont work tomorrow!

I have been waiting for a scam like this to happen after being screwed over with my "free create your taste burger up to the value of $15". It came out to $18.95 when purchased in a meal and then had to pay $7.95 after the value of the burger was deducted from the order. This meant that the burger's value was only $11. I could have just ordered a $15 burger on it's own and settled on a frozen coke for $1. Shame on me for not being thrifty…

  • Watch it get fixed by maccas soon..

  • I have McDonald's lunch already and so full. Will try this because of your great contribution.

The programmer for the self serve software was an OzBargainer who purposely created these 'glitches' for us to discover.

  • i smell 1000+ upvotes…

move this to forum so it doesn't raise any more alarms….

  • Not working at Bankstown

    • did you try using the self service machine?

      • +1

Yes. You can choose the mcbites only. No option for a meal

        • I wonder how OP was able to do it then; his receipt even says Large 10pc McBites VM.

        • @gokhanh:

          store specific

  • any word on whether it works in other states?

  • +9

Didn't know you could get the McBites in a meal, $3.65 including large fries and drink in itself is a pretty good deal.

    • +3

Exactly, considering the large drink itself costs $3.50

  • Hate Maccas but +1 (revoked my plus) not a deal!

  • +2

all these upvotes and has anyone but the OP gotten this to work?

  • +1

Can anyone other than OP confirm if this works for them?

  • +1

Not working McDonald's Elizabeth St Melb CBD :(

This thread will have 1000+ votes. Currently sitting on 58.

Doesn't work. They couldn't even make it into a meal.

  • +1

Tested in Darling Harbour NSW - Does not work. Guessing its a ga-glitch at your local?

  • +2

Can't order the McBites as VM. Canberra

  • Not working at South Perth WA.

  • Can't make mcbites in a large meal. And for $3.65??? Dreaming

  • +2

Stay tuned folks… Ozbargain techs are working very hard to confirm if this deal is legitmate:) Confirmed Glitch revoked my plus!!!

  • +1

The only meal I've seen 10 McBites in is the Happy Meals. I think this meal is over $6 base price. But good luck if anyone else can achieve this deal.

  • How do you get + votes when a deal doesn't work?

  • +3

    Sounds like McShit to me

100 hungry people want answers, kungfu_tofu

  • tried at our local a few minutes ago here in vic ,,, him no workies

  • Had anyone other than the OP manage to get this to work? I highly doubt this will even work anywhere else in QLD let alone other state. It might even be a glitch specific to the machine the OP use.

McBites in a meal is unheard of.

    • No, doesn't work Sydney Pitt St.

    • I did. Maybe the OP and I went to the exact same store…? I am in Brisbane

      • Why maybe? It's either you went to Forest Lake Maccas or you didn't. You can be more specific!

        • +2

Oops I didn't even read the first part of the description. It actually wasn't the Forest Lake store I went to

  • -3

doesn't work in Sunshine, kungfu_tofu you get a negative vote for that

  • Definitely a misconfigured register at the OP's store. McBites, as all Loose Change Menu items, are not available in Extra Value Meals. Well, I suppose frozen drinks are an exception, but there are two register buttons for each flavour; one at full price for meals, and one at the discounted price (which the software prevents you from putting into a meal).

  • Worked for me at a maccas here in Brisbane. Thanks OP

CONFIRMED works at Newmarket QLD store. I got a 10 pack of chicken mcbites, small frozen fanta spider and large fries which came down to $2.00. Original price for Large 10 chicken mcbites meal at Newmarket store was $3.60 from memory, but the small frozen fanta spider takes $1.60 off so it comes down to $2.00

i guess it'll just be us two abusing this "glitch" so far
maybe its brisbane specific i am yet to try at different stores

      • Start setting up a stand there and earn profit

  • Maybe it's a QLD thing, like the State of Origin or the rugby league grand final :-)

  • Not working anymore at FL. A 10-pce mcbites happy meal is 6.95, adding a frozen fanta adds $1.20. Boooo!

    • Confirmed. Have you tried at any other stores?

      • Nah mate. I live at FL so we thought this hack * 4 might make a cheap Fri night picnic feast in front of a movie with the kids. Bought a pizza instead :)

  • Why doesn't maccas let us take screenshots? I mustve missed the incident
