Looking for a HDD Station - Non SATA Parallel

Hi all,

I need a pointer here. My 8 years old computer stopped working.
I have been told I can buy a HDD docking station, pull out the hard drives from the old computer, plug in to the station, and transfer using USB.
I just realised that my hard drives are not SATA (I am not sure what do you call the long rectangular plug behind the hard drive, a generation before SATA, Parrarell?)

Is it still possible to buy HDD Docking Station for Pararel(?) hard drive?

Can anyone give me a link?

  You're using a PATA drive.

  It's actually more well known as an "IDE" connector rather than PATA, for some reason. Both terms are correct.

  A quick search on eBay on ebay reveals quite a lot of IDE-> SATA or IDE-> USB adapter kits, but I'm not familiar with what is reliable and what is not. i'd recommend sticking with the Vantec brand

  if the old HDD is large enough to warrant further use as a backup drive, and your new computer supports USB3, might be worth spending a few extra $ for a USB3 case.

    Agreed, if you are buying any kind of disk dock or case these days, it's worth investing in a USB3 one.
