Xbox One Elite - EB (retail) Exclusive also available through Microsoft.com

I was considering the Halo 5 console but at $558+ even with a game and limited edition case, it doesn't seem like a good deal when you consider the Elite bundle out on 6 November is $599.

Although supposedly exclusive to EB it is also available through Microsoft:

The controller alone sells (again "exclusively" from EB) for $200 so you could consider the console is costing $400, which is the current rate for the standard console. However the Elite comes with a hybrid SSD which should improve performance and would no doubt come at a premium above $400 if available without the Elite controller.

If having games included is important to you then this will still seem expensive but if you are considering it as a second console (as I am) it doesn't seem like a bad deal.

Buying through Microsoft has a free postage option and Cashrewards which, and I am not sure which category it will fall into, will give you 1% (hardware) or 2% (Xbox) cashback.

  • Yeah I felt the same which is why I ordered one last week. The solid state hybrid drive is apparently 20% faster than the standard drive. My time is valuable dammit!

Reviews of the elite controller have been really good. Excited to get this in a couple of weeks.

  • The controller itself sells for $199 at EB (also an exclusive). Think about that.

    Nevermind, didn't read.

  • Got a nice surprise when I picked up my Elite bundle from EB today: free copy of Black Ops 3! (well, I chose the 'hardened' edition for an extra $10)
I was thinking it was a pretty good deal already with the SSHD & controller (which is awesome BTW) but BO3 just made it even better..
