Milwaukee M18 2pce Cordless 18v Combo Kit + BONUS Attachment $259 Just Tools

50

Similar to Sydney Tools deal here, $10 more but from a more reliable dealer. I tried to get them to price match Sydney tools, this is the best I could get. Seems they have updated their price now. It comes with a bonus offset screwdriver attachment as well, so that might sweeten the deal a bit.

Great kit, and will be looking out for more m18 gear to expand my arsenal.

Milwaukee, China again I presume ?

    • Yes, most Milwaukee gear is made in China since the late 00's. I've had some old DeWalt and Makita gear before, first time with Milwaukee though. Time will tell I guess, but it's handy to have the easier return experience and 5 year warranty.

    • have you heard of Milwaukee shoulder sir?

I've heard of the Milwaukee Brewing Company. They are definitely not in China.

  • I have makita gear, and my brother has milwaukee (he's a builder) and the milwaukee impact driver is a lot more powerful.

It was putting 2 inch long bolts into hardwood at twice the speed of my makita driver, you can feel a big difference when using it.

    • I have milwaukee but remember to compare apples with apples as each brand has multiple models of each tool type at different prices

      • This 100%. I have used the base model and high end model of the Makita impact driver and there is an enormous difference. Same goes for their drills, the entry level is tragic (45nm torque) but I have the DHP481RTE and man that thing is absolutely fantastic. It has fantastic torque up high and down low.

That said, i'd look at alternatives to Makita nowdays if I were to reinvest… Their warranty just isn't on par with some of the other offerings (imo).

Do note that all of the Milwaukee gear is totally interchangeable with the AEG stuff you can get from bunnings. Batteries are interchangeable and I suspect the drills are like for like just with different housings.

    • I don't think it is (not with my 18V AEG stuff anyway). The battery top looks different. The AEG ones are flat at the front top edge.

After googling - the 12V are interchangeable, not the 18V.
