Free Uber Ride Sydney CBD Thursday 29th October 2015

30

From my understanding is that if you request a UberPitch in the Sydney CBD between 10am and 2pm, you will have a 7 minute ride to pitch your idea. 7 Minutes is plenty of time to travel from Wynyard to Central, and you get a free conversation out of it. There are only 7 cars so spots will obviously be limited, but I would love to see an Ozbargainer get a free ride out of this.

7 Minutes is plenty of time to travel from Wynyard to Central,

Good luck. Its probably going to be quicker to walk to your destination than wait for an Uber.

You obviously haven't seen the traffic in the CBD lately with the road closure for the new light rail construction

    • 7 Minutes maybe from Central to Wynyard, 40 minutes from Wynyard to Central. haha.

I don't understand this Uber promotion of pitching ideas.
The way I understand investment, ideas are a dime a dozen, it's the EXECUTION that's worth money.
The way this is marketed, all you need is some idea and then your life will be changed forever. What's to stop them from stealing your idea? Even if they fund your idea, how much equity do you get in the business? They may decide you only get 10% (to be fair, if you're only contributing an idea and none of the execution, 10% may be reasonable).
The only way this would be worth it is if you have an existing startup that's looking for funding in exchange for equity.
