Best value hair clippers at the moment?

With my birthday and Xmas both around the corner it's time for me to let the family know what I want as gifts as apparently I'm really hard to buy for.
So one thing I thought I could do with is a new set of hair clippers. My current set is an old $40 corded Remington set which is over 10 years old.
I figured it best to go cordless as then the wife can cut my hair on the lawn without an extension cord.
Really don't know what features they come with now.

  • Oh wow.. similar situation as I was. I had a Remington set for 10 years. The blades were getting a bit blunt. Paid around $50 for it at the time after going through a few $10 ones, which usually only lasted about 2 cuts.

    I recently bought this.

When there was a 20% off sale on ebay. Haven't had a chance to use it yet, but the only feature I looked for was the no-oil blades, which my old one had.

    • My old Remington's came with oil but I've never used it. Still working fine too. Maybe my hair is really oily.

  • +1

wahl is the way to go.

  • The Remington barber's best cordless hair clipper was on sale at Myer for $59.95 up until yesterday. It's back up to $69.95 today. If you're dedicated, you could always load up on Myer gift cards. That is, if you're lucky enough to find 3 places/newsagents that sell Myer gift cards and are part of the Amex Shop small promo. Then wait for Myer to have it or any other clipper on special again.
