I Have to Buy a Phone Please Help Me

long story short had a moto G i have a tendency to wash it allot because its mostly water proof.. after 1.5 years it died (not sure if it was water)(
been using an old rubbish lg now i seem to have lost it so i am now obligated to purchase a phone.. i hate phones but i have to buy one …

i absolutely refuse to pay more then 300 preferable no more then 200.. i don't care if its android or windows and i don't really care about anything else either

dual sim and water proof is always nice but price comes first…

please if you know of a good deal let me know :)

Get a Xiaomi. They're cheap but great quality and have good components. I have a redmi note 2 which is a 5.5" screen dual sim, cost me $220 but it might be too large for you.

I thought the water resistance/proof (IPX7) function on Moto G was only for 3rd gen model? 1 and 2 were splash resistant as far as I remember (don't quote me on it, I couldn't find any information on those two models' IP rating or anything like that.

Anyways, just listing the phones that have waterproof fucntion:

    • A lot of Sony phones (Xperia Z series, Xperia M series etc)
    • Galaxy S Active lines (i.e. 4, 5 and 6)
    • Galaxy S5
    • HTC Desire Eye
    • Huawei Honor 3

Anyways, I've referred to this article as well as my own knowledge for the models.

I have no clue about dual sim models, but I think these might be a good place to start searching.

Also, don't wash your phone too much. The devices with IP ratings have specific conditions for waterproof function to work (which you may or may not know). The way that you wash your device can break some of the conditions easily (i.e. running tap water actually adds pressure, chlorinated or salt water are not tested for these ratings etc) and the age of the phone can effect whether waterproof seals seal properly as well. I am simply mentioning this because I personally find most of the advertisements for the waterproof phones to be too unrealistic and too uninformative.

If you were content with your old LG, then what about buying a second hand phone?

If you are happy with a windows phone, then the Lumia 640 isn't a bad one to look at. Can be bought for $179 locked to telstra, vodafone or optus.

  • thanks for help… allot of useful comments meant to mention ideally 5 inch max… but thanks again
