Care factor for EPL = 0

Rupert not having the EPL = +1

  • What the (profanity) … they've got exclusive rights. So does that mean all the fans must watch it on their mobile devices lel?

    • prolly can chromecast to telly

unless they are like foxtel app which bans casting

This is not good news, EPL might just become a lot more expensive. Foxtel was paying $25m for EPL, while this deal is $64m. I rather see the Premier LEague Pass system that NZ/HK have!

  • No one really knows exactly what's going to happen. A spokesman for Optus commented that they wanted the EPL available to more people. There is the possibility that they will onsell the TV rights (which could be a combination of Free to Air and Fetch TV), but retain the internet/mobile rights with a Premier League Pass system like NZ have.

We will get more details in the coming months, we can't judge it too much yet, but it will need to be a robust system to compete with Foxtel Go for reliability.
