Our fixies are all equipped with a rear flip-flop hub, meaning you can choose between single speed (freewheel) or fixed gear setup by simply taking the wheel out and turning it round. Both options use a single gear ratio, meaning only the one gear. The single speed setup allows you to coast (stop pedaling whilst the wheels are in motion, just like any normal bike). The fixed gear setup takes away to ability to coast. The rear cog is attached or ‘fixed’ to the rear wheel which means whenever the bike is in motion, the pedals will go around. When the rear wheel turns, the pedals turn in the same direction, so you’re always pedaling.
Single speed and fixed gear bikes have become the ultimate in todays urban jungle.
