I'm looking for a new gaming laptop and have been googling some websites looking for refurbished gaming laptops (I can get a much better one in my pricerange 1500~ than if I got it new)
However, I'm not sure which websites are reliable or have good options. The only one I am aware of is the dell outlet :)
TL;DR: What website do I go to for refurbished gaming laptops?
I travel a bit and also need to bring the laptop to my friend's place to game and I have no clue on how to 'build' pcs
In the future though if you're not travelling so much, you can get someone to build the PC for you and you just pick the parts. Still would provide more bang for buck than a laptop. Additionally, Alienware also has something called a Graphics Amplifier, where you can utilise a desktop graphics card (far more powerful than an equivalent priced laptop one) for your laptop.
^this. You really pay through the nose for gaming laptops as they are a luxury compared to pc's so they charge what they want for them for max $$.
If I absolutely had to have one Id get one from pccg here that suited my needs, at least i know im covered if something went wrong.
Buy a crappy laptop for "laptop" stuff and use the rest to build a gaming PC.
try the asus ROG gaming series. got a refurb from ebay and is still going strong and very reasonable $

just to spec it up more, i will buy another SSD as it has dual bay and put in more RAM
Just remember that generally higher performance = more heat and more heat = higher failure rates. Get a good 3 or 5 year warranty and replace the laptop when it expires.
Why a laptop? You pay more $$ for less performance and they usually arent very at good gaming anyway with basically the same parts you get in a normal laptop except with a gfx card.
For $1500 you could easily get a powerful gaming pc that could play games at ultra settings, but it really depends on what you want in it/what you intend to use it for.
