ME Bank vs ING

I am currently on ing i love that you can use every atm for free and the paywave 2% is good but it did start at 5%. I think me bank is currently doing 5%
My question is what are the pros and cons of me bank?
I know many ozbargainers have ing but have many made the switch?
Thanks in advance

  • where does it say that ME bank is doing 5% cashback on paywave transactions???

  • Yep, and after the 3 months you cancel it and think you can re-apply and go again… You can't.

Even 2 years after cancelling and closing an account you are still classified as an existing customer (as you have had an account before) and aren't eligible for any of their new customer promos…which they will let you apply for and go all the way to the end, then issue the account without the 5% bonus etc.

Stick to ING, for 3 months, not worth it.

  • make a poll. ING has Isla Fisher so thats a vote from me (their competitive savings maximiser, 2% cash back, intuitive app and free ATMs are a bonus)

    • Your purchase of a product or service is mainly influenced by whether a pretty lady/Ginger is advertising it?

      • +2

Yes. I have a thing for gingers

      • @DeafMutePretender (and rockman117)

        Are you a POM, DMP?
THAT would be the only valid excuse…

Isla may well have married Ali G, but she is properly referred to as being a cute 'Ranga', not 'Ginger'.
'Redhead', if you prefer /otherwise in more formal circumstance.

        This is 'Ginger'.

If a spokesmodel /were she one, for acorns or anything else?
        Yep: 100%. Would buy.

        • I'm not a pom but I do communicate with poms so maybe I'm absorbing their vocabulary. I do recall J Gillard being Australia's most famous "ranga" but Ginger comes to my mind before ranga does.

To be honest, "redhead" sounds a bit too direct to be used in formal circumstances (like an evening fancy ballroom party or something) so if it was up to me, I would offer a more sophisticated way of referring to gingers. How about "Crimsonite"?

        • @DeafMutePretender:

Despite my considerable fondness for Crimson Rosellas (mentioned recently, elsewhere), formally shifting from 'Redhead' to something like 'Crimsonite', would likely require a referendum.

As in the U.S. (same-same, but very different) various redhead iconography in Australia e.g., runs very deep…

        • Nah born in Aus. I use the term ranga but I was referencing deaf mute using ginger
