Cree Torch - SK68 XPE Q5 250LM AA - $1.8 USD (~$2.5 AUD) @ DealsMachine.com

90

Was looking around for a low lumen torch for longer battery life and found this. Suits my needs, should be bright enough to walk to the bathroom at night without walking into ninja spiders and cockroaches, or the wall.

Sites reviews are mixed but for ~$2.50 AUD I don't mind the risk. Otherwise it's around 30c more on GearBest

Edit: Limit 1 per person. Only one click mode (thanks Paulaus). Also works with 14500 battery.

  • Cool, picked one up.
    Thanks.

  • Don't get anything from gearbest ever. They've been banned from this website for being the scam that they are.

    • Agreed, just trying to get my money back from my last purchase with them.

I've purchased 2 dashcams and a couple of watches from Gearbest, delivery takes 2 weeks or longer but they all turned up and work great.
Got another dashcam on the way for a mate.

        • my orders all arrived, a headset arrived really late but better than not! :-)

I've purchased a few cheap things off GearBest and haven't had any problems. Did you open a PayPal dispute? How did that go?

Though it shouldn't have had to come to that IMO. How much did the thing you bought from them cost?

      • +1

all my 8 orders have arrived safe and sound. except a media player which was DOA. but they sent a replacement.

      • Been waiting 5 weeks for a luggage scale. Not gone to Paypal yet as opened a dispute with them and they said have to wait until 2 months have elapsed, bit of a joke really.

    • I'm not even sure why the OP is mentioning gearbest when they are more expensive and less reliable. Lots of people including me ordered 3d goggles from them and 3+ months on they still hadn't arrived.

  • Only 1 per person. Has 1 mode switch which is good.

  • Any good $40+ flashlight with 3x aaa batteries and high lumens?

I has been said on Ozbargin.
Get your deal on a cree light in any form, power it with eneloops from a deal from ebay or dse. Only to never use it because your brought a ssd drive and gone to masters to claim 10% off.

    • Is there a free udemy course for grammar? Lol

    • I think what the poster is saying is that Ozbargainers have been using torches as lighting solutions and then afterwards switching to getting LED drivers and LED light bulbs instead. I guess that could work. But if it's fixed lighting then you would need an electrician. I would rather carry a torch instead though, since my hallway has a dozen or so downlights.

  • Currency is in USD, if I pay using paypal, will I be charged anything extra? Currently its showing as $2.62AUD

    • +1

If PayPal is showing the charge as AUD then there is no extra fees as PayPal make some money from the poor currency conversion rate.

If it shows the price in USD then that is the currency that is charged to your credit card. Your credit card company would then convert the currency at a still relatively bad currency conversion rate and they may also charge a foreign currency transaction fee. No idea which would end up costing more. Maybe the credit card company, so probably best to use AUD with PayPal. Better to go with the devil you know than the devil you don't.

That is why a lot of OzBargainers make use of a 28 Degrees Credit Card which has good currency conversion and no foreign currency transaction fees. More information from the OzBargain wiki page here

      • Thanks OP. Ordered one.

  • lol this mob is useless. I ordered some crap from them almost 3 months ago and still watiing

    • Have you tried contacting them? Most Chinese stores take at most 1 month. Some insist you wait 30 business days before contacting them. Most of my orders arrive in 1.5-3 weeks, which is much faster than it used to be a few years ago, well for me at least.

      • It's some 69c gizmo so I didn't really make any effort. I buy from Chinese stores all the time and never had any issues. With GB this is the 2nd time something hasn't arrived. That's why I keep my purchases from them under $1 :)
