    Single, 1 or 2 children
    Maximum payment per fortnight
    $151.76
No payment if your fortnightly rent is less than
    $151.34
Maximum payment if your fortnightly rent is more than
    $353.69

  • i read that now and i still dont get it
so every dollar after $151.34 a fortnight they will get it almost all of it back from rent assistance??

    • In that example, they only get the full $151.76/fortnight payment if they're paying $353.69/fortnight or more in rent.

Paying between $151.34/fortnight and $353.69/fortnight of rent, the amount they get paid is less than the maximum payment scaled to how much rent they pay. e.g. someone paying $160/fortnight in rent will get significantly less (probably close to $0) than someone paying $350/fortnight who will be getting close to the maximum payment.

If they're paying less than $151.34/fortnight in rent, then they don't get rent assistance.

      That's how I understand it.

  • It's 75c for every dollar over the no payment limit.

(Rent Paid - No Payment Limit) * 0.75

    • thanks durd0008 thats the formula i was looking for
