Just wondering if it's worth it to get a gtx980 to replace my 770? I am able to get a 980 for ~$650. Looking if it's worth the cost for the upgrade.

1440p gaming, aiming for ultra. I think its worth, but torn to spend that much.
Just realised it's not the 980ti, you could just get the 970. Imo the 980 isn't worth an extra $230 over the 970.
You should either go for the GTX 970 or 980 Ti. The 'in between' 980 model isn't worth it at 1440p. You might as well go the extra mile for the 980Ti.
However, this also depends on the games you play. Triple AAA titles like Witcher 3, MGS 5, ARK Evolved will benefit from the 980Ti model at 1440p.
Looking at Fallout 4 and other AAA titles. Decided against going for the card.
I've got a 670 and I've considered upgrading to the 980 but have decided against it and will try and snag a 980ti hopefully for cheaper next year.

I don’t recommend upgrading your graphics card unless the replacement card is at least three tiers higher. Otherwise, the upgrade is somewhat parallel, and you may not even notice a worthwhile difference.
