Looking for The Cheapest Lenovo X1 Carbon Gen 3

Hi,

I am a student looking for the cheapest Lenovo X1 Carbon Gen 3. The only option I can see is from the Lenovo website about AUD 2400 for the IPS non-touch display i7, 8 GB Ram after student discount. Does anyone know how to get a cheaper price?

Thanks.

  • I don't think you can get ThinkPad from retailing channel so you'll have to buy from Lenovo's website. There's currently Click Frenzy sale, otherwise you'll have to wait until Boxing Day.

Alternatively you might want to see whether there's refurbished ones on eBay.

Our find a cheaper model — Edge series are usually under $1000, or T450s.

  • I am looking around for deals and called Lenovo today. The rep offered Thinkpad T460 for $1,400 (i5, 8Gb, 256SSD and FHD). Another deal was offered for X1 Carbon at $1,525 (same specs except with 512SSD). Can someone help me decide which one to go for and if the specs on offer are ok? It is for university work largely with little gaming. Thanks in advance.

    • X1 Carbon would be a better deal for sure. We had ThinkPad T460 for $1199 recently (similar spec, with just 128GB SSD).

      • Thanks Scotty42. In general you are finding the product ok? Does it make any difference between i5 6200U and i5 6300U? Any other thing that you can suggest me from Lenovo when I am finalising the deal?

        • All the modern Intel Core CPUs are "fast enough" for most office tasks so IMHO there's little difference between these two CPU. ThinkPad T & X series are well made, but X1 Carbon is a lot lighter and more portable.

        • @scotty: Thanks heaps Scotty
