Issue with Catch of The Day - REFUNDS

Hi Guys,

I bought an MK watch costing 270$ and I adjusted it chains with a watch shop. After couple of months, I requested for return coz of change of mind and I clearly mentioned that I have taken couple of links off the watch. I have email proof for this.

They told me to send it to them and now they say they cant accept it as its links are removed and is rejecting my refund.

Do I have any options here? I even agreed to pay 10$ to fix links or even offered to fix it myself and then again return back to them.

Pls help
Thanks

  • I don't see an issue with their response not withstanding not being privy to the conversation you had with them regarding the return.

Unless they have a no questions asked return policy then it is at their discretion to accept the return or not. They said they cannot after inspecting the goods and you will need to accept that.

Change of mind occurs before you open the box….this is what you call 'buyers remorse'. COTD is well within their rights to reject the refund. After all you tampered with it and wore it for a few days. They can't resell it as new.

    • I never wore it. But adjusted the links. Since I mentioned this in email to them beforehand, they could have easily informed this to me then and I would have avoided the pain of posting it to them and doing all these time wasting things.

      • Are you sure you have never worn the watch on your wrist? If you have never done that how would you know that the watch doesn't fit and how many links you need to remove ? Anyone with some common sense would know that you have tried the watch on which constitute you wearing the watch.

COTD should have just outright refused to accept the return.

It's surprising that after a couple months that you request a refund in which that time you also modified the product.

You bought a watch, personally modified it and had a change of mind after a couple of months and you are blaming COTD to refuse the claim. They are within their rights to refuse the refund and they should do that. It is a non issue.

  • I bought a citizen watch, arrived in damaged box but inside is fine. wore once, but then i found other shop selling cheaper so i told them i dont like, face watch too big, box damaged, etc etc - note: i didnt adjust or temper with the watch AT ALL.
    they give me full refund.
    at the end, happy customer
