Coles Price Match policy

I recently saw a TV ad for Coles new (??) price match policy.

A search of the Coles website for "price match" gives this result:
"… Show us a better price and we'll match it. For housebrand and fresh products, we will price match equivalent products. Price match …"

The link provided (www.coles.com.au/Products/Lowest-Price-Guarantee.aspx) now only takes me to the Coles homepage, with no mention of a price match policy. Has this been buried by Coles whilst all the attention was on their "state-wide identical pricing" concept? I ask mainly because that policy would mean that any special being run by Woolies would be matched at Coles. Evidently the policy exists or at least existed as the link is clearly title Lowest Price Guarantee.

Anyone from Coles shed some light on this?

Aldi took Coles to court for "false advertising lowest prices" I don't know the outcome or about their price match.

  • For a while Kmart had a similar lowest price guarantee where they would beat their competitors lowest price like Bunnings or Officeworks, however they then changed it to a price match policy. As they're both under Wesfarmers it could be a similar story with Coles.
