Pizza Hut Absolute RIP OFF, Similar to 7-11

It appears that Pizza Hut has been ripping off people, similar to the 7/11 fiasco:

It is paying $5 for a delivery, when they should be paying $18.78

No Government department is doing anything about this blatant ILLEGAL exploitation.

When will this end?

The Labor Govt opened the flood gates to illegal exploitation when they issued every overseas man and his dog a visa.

If this sort of behavior is occurring in big business, imagine small business 'ethics'.

    • Agree but does not seem to be any different with Liberal in government now - just a way to import cheap labour, to pump population and GST.

Imagine $18.78 per hour to deliver 2 orders, ie each customer will have to pay $9.30 min to cover a delivery. No more ozbargain pizza delivery then.

      • pizza hut has become really cheap int he past few years. In the 80s it was somewhere around $25 or $30 a pizza which is something like $50 or more in todays money. The only way to make cheap deals is too rip off the workers :(

Dominos always paid delivery drivers under minimum wage as well, not as bad as Pizza Hut though…
Would get half what an in-store employee got but expected to do all the same work when in the store between deliveries. It got to the point that the store where I was working would roster one in-store employee and a tonne of drivers because it was just significantly cheaper.
The worst part is that it was the union (SDA) who negotiated the "great enterprise agreement" that allowed it to happen, and didn't see anything wrong with it, even though speaking to Fair Work Australia they said the staff should have been on significantly more, and eligible for public holiday/Sunday loading (which we weren't- even though they charged a surcharge!)
Note This was my experience a few years ago, can hope that Dominos has a new enterprise agreement, but if Pizza Hut is still running their old crappy one I'm doubtful.

    • Thats because half or maybe more of the time, union reps are sell outs to the ppl they are supposed to represent. Behind the scenes they make personal deals t o help themselves.

Unfortunately in this day and age unskilled labour is a race to the bottom, just like it is in america.

Would it be easier if Pizza Hut contracts drivers for delivery?

    • Makes little difference, PH would simply only pick the lowest contract , all those drivers would quickly learn the hard way that they wont get a job unless they quote a very low deal.
