GTX 970 FTW Edition - Australian Stock?

Hello OzBargain;

Fairly keen to get my hands on a new card for 1440p Ultra Fallout 4, and I've come to the GTX 970 FTW Superclocked edition by EVGA. My AMD Radeon 7850 is having a really difficult time.

Got my hands on a $100 Voucher through work to take $100 off anything with a tax invoice via redemption — so that lightens the load by knocking $100 off any of the prices noted below.

Prices:

Amazon - AUD$513.20 delivered
Mwave - AUD$567.84 delivered
PCCG - AUD$578.12 delivered

I'm semi-set on getting local stock/local supplier stock as I value the ability to send back to an Australian retailer in case of any woes.

Can anybody offer any suggestions or gems of wisdom that would prevent me pulling the trigger this very moment? ;)

Cheers, QW3RTY

    Prob better off waiting for pascal next year if you're considering forking out half a grand on a GPU

    the 380x just came out, supposedly a little better than the 960, so give it a week or two and it may force the 970 down a little, although the 970 is still a fair bit faster, especially for F4.

    Also, I think black Friday sale is this week, so wait until Friday/Saturday and may find it cheap on Amazon. I heard some on Amazon were going for $300 US recently, not sure what that is delivered in AUD.
    I am not an expert on overclocking gpu's, but given the reference design of most, manual overclocking can be achieved on all of them, depending on how good the cooling is. I also thought there are very few fps between different overclocks, so I would be going for cheaper rather than ultimate factory overclocked.

    I would see how things go this weekend.
