Racing Simulator Advice, to Upgrade for The G27 or Not!

Hi All,

I recently brought a Gtultimate chair and a g27, and it's okay, have a good time playing iracing, hard but getting use to it.

However i think i'm ready to put more money into it, and get a better experience…

So here are my thoughts.

  1. I don't want a G29, since it's not belt driven.
  2. I can look for a fanatec CSR bundle of ebay, probably be second hand(no issue with it, but it will be used)
  3. Buy a Thrustmaster T300 or T500(the 500 is obviously like a grand with all the things for it)

My question is, would i noticed the difference between going to the G29? How about the Fanatec CSR?

I'm not really in the mood of dropping a grand on the T500 set up but i will if people tell me it's definitely worth it, since that's what i see in the reviews.

Thanks

  • I bought a G27 a couple of weeks ago too, iRacing is good fun… What class are you? What races do you intend on doing?

    • Hi just rookie, putting in more hours, racing with Mazda on Laguna and the USA international speedway.

P.M. me your username i'll add you as a friend

  • are u playing this on ps or pc?
that would be the main question on whether it's worth upgrading or not. ps3/ps4 will only allow certain amount of simulation, compared to a gaming pc

i have a g27 + gtultimate and although the thrustmaster would be much better feel, it wouldn't really change the way the sim is within ps

    • Yeah i'm on the PC.

  • I have a Fanatec CSR and it feels really nice and smooth in Project Cars (the main racing game I play) I play a little bit of the new Dirt Rally game too and it works well. Only issue I've had is that it won't update the firmware on the wheel for some reason :(

Can't help you on a comparison though sorry

One thing I highly recommend for your rig is a Buttkicker :D So good in racing games
