    baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

How good is the manual camera app?

    • I would like to know as well.

    • I understand it's excellent if your phone is compatible with all the features, unfortunately only a small number of phones/Roms have implemented correctly Lollipop's Camera2 API. e.g. My OPO is not compatible
Without this, it's a well made simple camera app, but lacks a lot of features that make it great.

      • ^ What he said. I have a Nexus 5 and bought the app for $3. It's excellent, but make sure you download the compatibility tester app first.

just bought this and apparently the exposure mode doesn't work with my N6P - and I believe it will be the same with N5X as well.

Also note Moon Reader Pro is on sale for $2.08 which is a bargain.

    • Reviews seem to indicate there are random compatability issues at times (i have the pro version as well)

      • Google reviews are often duds.. I've used Moon Reader for years on multiple phones and tablets and never had any issues.

        • Used it myself - it does have problems opening certain .epub documents which other free e readers like Mantano etc dont (tested).

Clouds & Sheep 2 Premium - in app purchases cost up to $109.99!!!

    • +1

      Sheep's expensive!

    • The Simpsons Tapped Out have a $169 option.

In fact, most games have the most ridiculous pricing models I have ever seen. I believe there's an inherit problem to prey on kids to try and get them to press the button, even though some apps appear to be taking steps to prevent it.

But really, some apps charge $6 to just have your life refilled. Wtf?

    just bought it.
    here's my initial 1-minute-experience-review:

i'm a professional photographer, and i really like it :D
Obviously can't replace our 5D3s, but it's great for a for a snappy phone camera app.
I have an old Google Nexus5 (which is famous for having a terrible camera), and this app has really improved the camera.

    PROS:
    super fast shutter.
full control of all exposure variables (shutter speed, ISO, but not aperture).
    manual (lockable) focus control.
apparently shoots in raw (.DNG), but i haven't played with these.

    CONS:
    no manual aperture control!

I would have bought this a long time ago, at full price, if i knew the app existed. Now I regret just ordering the Panasonic DMC-CM1 :( Well at least it'll give me full manual aperture control :')

Are you are aware that phones don't have an adjustable aperture at all? Sorry, but I couldn't tell if you were joking…

      • no need to apologise. i wasn't not joking. i didn't know phones have fixed apertures. seriously don't know much about my phone's camera at all, except that it's really bad without this app

    • +1

I actually believe most phones are fixed aperture, what's the point anyway with such a small sensor.

I have played the raw off my nexus 6p, opened it with Adobe raw the same as my canon or Fuji files , and all the setting were there.
Really allows you to save and perfect some shots, though you will notice the sensor in no time.

CM1 looks awesome, that's hopefully the future of serious camera phones !

    • after playing with the app some more, I learned the following:
      CONS:
      - flash duration seems set by the shutter speed. eg: when the shutter speed is fast (1/1000+ etc), the flash is fast. when the shutter speed is slow (1/4 etc), the flash is just as slow (long). for this reason it's very hard (perhaps impossible) to correctly expose a foreground subject (with flash light) and the background (with existing ambient light).
      - seems to be a shutter delay with slower shutter speeds. not just lag between shots (with the shutter staying open for the shutter speed duration) but for the shutter to even open after pressing the button. shutter delay is probably the most frustrating issue with my Nexus5, so my phone camera is no better or worse with the app in this area.
      - maximum shutter duration is .8second, which isn't slow at all.

      PROS:
      - i now have no regrets ordering the Panasonic CM1 :D

  • All features and compatible with the OnePlus2

Just checked comparability check app on $63 Telstra Buzz… Failed all test categories :(

  • +1

all passed for Nexus 5, can't complain for 20c! thanks OP

  • +1

All passed for lg g4 bought.thanks

    • The stock camera app has manual controls already, right?

  • +1

All failed for HTC one M7.
Got it anyway since it's only 20c and planning to upgrade phone soon.

  • Damn, nothing is compatible on Galaxy S3. Would have thought that it would considering I'm running CM12.1
