Since when did convenience and petrol stations followed RRP?

    • +4

Not often, but I imagine that if they've printed "$2" on the wrapper, it's going to be harder for them to re-price it.

    • +1

Maximum RRP. They'd have to agree to the price or receive no stock.

      • -2

        That's illegal

        • @kyliet:

It is illegal for suppliers to:
put pressure on businesses to charge their recommended retail price or any other set price, for example by threatening to stop supplying to the reseller

          source

        • @The Land of Smeg:

Coca-cola also do it on small cans for $2. There is obviously a loop hole in the legislation.

          @The Land of Smeg:

Had you only read the section just below:

In most cases, a supplier may specify a maximum price for retail.

        • @ldstr: There is nothing illegal about agreeing to a Maximum price, but it would be illegal to stop or threaten to stop supplying to a retailer for not agreeing to do this.

if only one could have a gaytime for that price

    • Im sure you can still have a jolly gay time after paying $2 for a Cornetto at a convenience and petrol station.

      • +10

i guess it depends what you do with the cornetto…

Bring back the cappuccino gay time.. the best icecream ever.

    • Once you go cappuccino gay time, you never go back?

      • It's damn good, and the lame innuendo isn't funny.

  • I bought some on the weekend for the kids
Good price and not messy for the kids, that's if they don't leak from the bottom.

    I still prefer my magnum,

    Good find op

  • I saw some advertising at my local deli (The backing of the freezer). It stated "Maximum Sale Price of $2"

  • saw this last time when i was at the convenient shop in sydney CBD, couldn't believe they actually print the prices on the package. Hope this deal stays for a while

  • +1

people seem surprised at maximum retail price printed on the packaging. Did no one see the $2 coke cans when they did this months ago?

      Where's your toothbrush made?

Thanks for the heads up. Will avoid these now. Do not trust Indonesia food standards.

You are going to lose a lot of weight.

If you apply the same thing to electronics and cars you are headed back to The Stone Age.

Still titling developing nations as "Third World" countries. Says it all, really.

Bought some Fruttare the other day and it was made in INDONESIA too. Looks like Streets is going INDONESIA big time.

For those who say it doesn't make a difference. Fruttare contains 30% milk 10% bannana and rest is thickeners and numbers. That stuff will kill you sooner.

Ingredients: Dairy ingredients (30%) (reconstituted skim milk, milk solids), water, cane sugar, banana (10%), invert sugar, vegetable oil, glucose syrup, stabilisers (410, 440, 407), emulsifier (471), flavours, acidity regulators (330, 331), ice structuring protein, firming agent (509), colour (160a).

      Vs say Magnum Almond

Ingredient list: Dairy ingredients (reconstituted skim milk and/or reconstituted buttermilk, milk solids, cream), cane sugar, cocoa^ (9%) (cocoa butter, cocoa mass), almonds (5%), vegetable oil, emulsifiers (471, soybean lecithin), vegetable gums (407, 410), flavours, colour (160b).

      • So quite similar. Do you realise vegetable gums are stabilisers?

        • I counted 4 sets of numbers in the Australian magnum vs 8 in the Indonesian Fruttare.

"If only one could have a gaytime for that price"

You can. In fact you can have 3.

NQR are selling boxes of 8 golden gaytimes for $4.99 which is 62c per gaytime.

    • +1

A great price but it's not the same as buying just one ice cream at any convenience store.

I should go to NQR more often.

  • Is the new price a direct result of a smaller cornetto ice cream? Companies normally reduce size then brag about the new low price of their product.

    • Not that I've heard.

  • I just asked the guy at the local convenience store at Docklands and he says the Streets rep hasn't told them anything yet. :-(
