Porting to Another Provider after Starting a New Billing Period (Resolved)

Hello,

Wiki is on a Vodafone sim-only red-plan, which refreshes on the 27th of every month. She's decided to port-out to another telco and was told she would receive her new sim yesterday but hasn't. Assuming she receives it on Monday, the 30th and successful ports to the new telco, how will vodafone bill her: for the whole month or pro-rata?

Thanks,

JJB

TL;DR : porting from a month-to-month sim-only plan from voda to another telco , while already a couple of days into the billing period. How much will Voda charge her: for the number of days used or whole month?

  • Maybe this might help someone: Voda does not do pro-rated billing. You'll get charged for the whole month.

However, Optus ( which was the telco she was planning to move to) has agreed to defer the activation of her account for a month. The other option she was offered was to cancel her optus plan and pay a cancellation fee.

  • W've just ported our mobile to another telco and our previous telco has made an error with our last bill. Good luck with the process.

    • Thanks :)

      • +1

Our previous telco claimed they would do a pro rata bill but something has gone wrong and they've charged a lot more than the normal monthly amount. We shoud be able to sort it out next week.

        • We finally got things sorted out with out previous telco.

When they did the final bill they changed us to different plans thinking it would save us money but it actually cost us money. We got it sorted out after a few phone calls and the correct amount was eventually paid.
