Huawei Y5 Lollipop or Sony E4G Kitkat

Cant decide between the E4G from Aus Post $99 or the Y5 for $103 from Telstra (With the Monster headphones thrown in). Both have the 850/ 900 3G bands & Band 28 700 .

Cant find any accurate comparion sites, but this will give the vibe.

  • Sony, I know only Kit Kat but you get:

    Better and bigger screen
    Lighter
    Bigger battery
    Faster processor

Both have micro SD so that's good.

Also free headphones, seems no brainer unless you need it unlocked?

  • Headphones only come with the Huawei Y5. I have been impressed with my previous Huawei phone, but i have never had a phone without an IPS screen.

  • Its not 2014. Lollipop. Both have quad core processors with 1GB RAM and 8GB ROM. Little difference there. Screen is barely bigger.

  • So 1 vote for the E4G and 1 for the Y5. E4G might get Marshmallow.

  • Just went and compared the above with the Alcatel Pixi 4.5 4G, Buzz 4GX and Huawei Y635 and the p8 Lite.

    Interesting differences.

    All screens were fine.
The Huawie's no longer have miracast.
The camera on the Alcatel for close up text etc was terrible. Sony was the best, followed by the Buzz, then Y5. The Y635 hung for ages after a photo (even after a restart).

In order Sony was the best, then the Buzz (but it doesn't have the Optus bands, then the Y5. The Y635 and Pixi weren't great.

    • The Pixi 4.5 needs a decent amount of light to take a decent pic. More than the Y5. Y635 is also KitKat. Meh.

  • I actually prefer the Kit Kat layout and features. The Do not disturb mode is gone. The Calendar no longer has a task list / agenda mode. What are the benefits of Lollipop?
