Car Bluetooth Wireless Receiver that Re-Transmits FM

Is there a device that:

  1. Plugs into your car cigarette ligher socket for 12VDC power.
  2. Receives audio from a smartphone WIRELESSLY via bluetooth.
  3. Re-transmits the audio via FM into your car stereo.

?

I know there are cheap ones that you can plug your phone into using a cable. But I want to do it via bluetooth. The car and tape deck are old, but both are in excellent condition. So I want to keep the car looking original. I cannot hear spoken audio on the phone when driving due to road noise. If I can play it through the car stereo, I can get better volume.

  • Eh For what it is worth this seems okay, Belkin CarAudio Connect Bluetooth FM Transmitter.

From my quick search seems like the only branded one.

  • Thanks. Now isn't that interesting…

The reason I posted the question was, all the units I'm finding have USB ports. After reading several descriptions on aliexpress, I assumed the phone had to be plugged into that USB port for the device to access the music - and the 'bluetooth' was only to mute the FM audio output if a call came in on the phone.

But the product you posted says its USB port is for charging your phone. So maybe some of the much cheaper ones (about $12, when this one is about $60-$110) are the same. But working that out from aliexpress is impossible, because of their hopeless descriptions.

The device Tehcookiemonsta has provided does exactly what I need. Does anyone know of a cheaper one that does exactly the same?

Pity about the long cable too. I've just now thought how good it would be to hide it up under the dash too. But maybe you have to press a button to turn it on each time.

  • You want to play music from your phone through your car's speakers?

I got the iclever himbox. It works great. Your car does need an aux port.

My friends has a cheap chinese one from ages ago and it makes a buzzing sound and sometimes cuts out.

With the one you choose, check little features like automatically turning on/off and being able to pair more than one phone at a time.

  • do not know why u need bluetooth, any FM transmitter with aux-in can do the job, like this one

    if u also get this

u can skip songs & answer calls without touching ur phone

  • Um… Why was my comment (automatically because of how quick it happened) unpublished due to product links, when other people in the same thread also have product links!?

(One link was Amazon. The other aliexpress. I'm not affiliated with either!)

    • This is how you should post Amazon links. Amazon tacks on some 'extra' information to your URL so that it's able to keep track of your browsing habits, and also to find out how many people click your link if it has been shared.

the bolded part is the 'referral' part of the URL. Anything past the backslash (/) and ref= is not needed. The 'ref=' is what makes Ozbargain think it is a referral link.
