Not bad for those who missed out the Sandisk Ultra II 960GB SSD for $287 AUD Delivered on the US Amazon.

  • Wow that's a good price.

Actually once you take out VAT the price is ~154GBP, which according to google is ~$320AUS

Great price, imo, it's a better buy @ $320 than the sandisk ultra @290

    • The GBP 165.95 total (Shipped )doesn't include VAT. VAT is calculated after the item amount if the shipping address is within the UK

      • Didn't realise shipping an SSD from Amazon UK was so expensive. Usually when I'm buying Blu-Ray etc. it's 3.5GBP for the first item and around 1.5GBP for every item after that.

I'm getting an "Import Fees Deposit" added to the cost, which appears to be 10%. Would this be for AU GST?

    As per the T&Cs:

"Import Fees Deposit" represents an estimate of the Import Fees that will be levied on the items in your order for delivery to countries outside the EU. By placing your order, you agree to allow Amazon to collect the Import Fees Deposit for the applicable items in your order. This deposit will be used, on your behalf, to reimburse the Designated Carriers for the import fees that they have paid on your behalf to the appropriate authorities of the destination country.

You further agree that the Designated Carriers may disclose to Amazon the amount of actual Import Fees levied on the item you have purchased from Amazon and/or Merchant ("Actual Import Fees"). In the event that the Import Fees Deposit exceeds the Actual Import Fees, Amazon will refund the difference to you.

Are you ordering three or more? I have usually seen this only when ordering for more than AUD1000.

      • That's it, cheers. I had 3 selected; bringing it down to 2 makes it disappear.

As I had the currency set to GBP I didn't think of the total converted back to AUD.

  • 185 now looks like it went up… around $385 aud

    • 185 includes VAT, once you choose shipping to Australia the price goes down.

  • Perfect. Was looking at a 950 m2, but at this price I can't justify the speed boost vs. the loss in storage space. Thanks OP!

ohhh, I seem to be upgrading every month …. from 250GB to 500GB, now 1TB ……. but 1TB in a laptop will be sweet.

  • all gone ?, now says can't deliver to Australia.
