New Australian Social Media App Lets You Ask for Snaps from People

Bomb’d is the 'hottest' new social media app that old people won’t understand. It's completely targeted at 14-25 year olds, and is pretty questionably sexualised.

Interested in thoughts, although 'not getting it' is exactly what they want from people older than 25!

I'm a few years older than the target group so this is probably why I don't get what this is used for…

Aside from requesting pictures from "hot" people, is there any other point to this? Really confused as to how this could be the next "big thing". I mean if the next "big thing" means a crap tonne of scandals with underage contents then I'd have to agree.

    • Yeah. Reminds me of Yo! The app literally just buzzed Yo! to your contacts.

But then I heard people are now using it for emergency crisis communications. Like the homemade tin rockets in Israel.

  • No android support?

I get the idea behind it, but i don't see how it will overtake snapchat.

It also has an apostropie in the name, making it harder to type on mobile devices.

Just iOS for now (and it's buggy)

  • And here I was thinking this was great for like a casual airtasker type thing. Random stuff like getting intel like crowds or roadworks/traffic.

Now I find out its for teens that are bored with snapchat and want the latest fad for nude pics.

    Sigh.

I had heard of an app before of location based chat and pic request. 'Hey you're at (this event or cool tourist place) I need help can you the a pic of it, I can't see any pics online of it' type deal.

There are some really useful solutions with mobile tech bit it seems to just go to lowest common denominator of money and sex.

  • LOL i can see this app bombing itself.

  • How does it feel when nobody ever asks?
