Oral B Trizone 5000 Stopped Working - Still under Warranty @Shavershop

Hi there,

my trizone 5000 that I bought from shavershop last April has stopped working for no reason. so less than 12 months.
I still have receipts and original packaging with accessories.
I bought it from Shavershop, does anyone know if they will proceed with a replacement or will they send it for repair ?
just wondering if I will lose my time with them and if I should go to Oral B directly.

thanks

  • Pretty sure you go to Shavershop if it's still under warranty.

    EDIT:

The retailer who sold you the product or service cannot refuse to help you by sending you to the manufacturer or importer. You can approach the manufacturer or importer directly, however, you will only be entitled to recover costs from them, which include an amount for reduction in the product’s value and in some cases compensation for damages or loss. You cannot demand a repair, replacement or refund from the manufacturer.

    • That's not what the op asked..

      • This is exactly what he asked.

If you still can't read, tldr; you can do either, most likely outcome is that it goes back to OralB either way.

        • He asked what action Shavershop will take. You listed what they are legally allowed to do.. Which encompasses a number of options and is stating the obvious. It is not answering the question asked.

  • If it was me I would take it back to the Shaver shop and firmly, but politely, steer them towards the answer you want to get. They may well send it off to repair but it might actually be easier/cheaper for them to just give you a new one or they may offer you a discount on a new one. Make it easier for them to give you a new one by repacking everything it came with back into the box so a straight swap looks logical. As a side line here, if you have gold/platinum visa/amex you can use them to extend your warranty.

    Best of Luck

    • Usually those extended warranties have an excess of $250 so basically not worth anything.

      • The extension of the warranty is part of the card at no extra cost. I don't pay fees because I'm a NAB shareholder.

        • Wow, thanks for pointing that out… I didn't realise that such a card existed. I'm a shareholder too, so I might look at getting one of those cards.

For anyone else relying on this though, beware of the card type that the "insurance" is through, My Westpac Altitude Black PDS states:
"Extended warranty insurance policy – You must pay the first A$250 for each claim." basically making the policy useless.

        • @AG_ACT: I have a Visa and an Amex platinum card that have various insurances as part of them. (You do have to read the fine print to see what they really cover)

To dump the fees you have to have a certain number of NAB shares, and you don't get it unless you ask for it, but worth investigating.

    • Hi there, I have packed everything perfectly in original box also with plastics and cardboard. Hopefully they will proceed with a replacement.
Will keep the topic up to date.
      Thanks

  • They usually get replaced rather than repaired, hygiene reasons and stuff like that.

I've had two replaced under warranty in the last 15 years

  • Lodge a case with department of fair trading or you can buy Philips ;)
