Where to Unlock Vodafone Pre-Paid Phones?

Hi guys, just bought a Vodafone locked Xperia Z2 from Dick Smith (http://www.dicksmith.com.au/prepaid-mobile-phones/vodafone-s…) but I can't seem to find anywhere that can unlock my phone online except for the official Vodafone website, who charges $75 to unlock.

Can anyone please tell me where I can get my Vodafone prepaid phone unlocked?? Thank you

  • Have you tried eBay?
If not, there's a chap here who apparently unlocks prepaid mobile phones and it'll leave you some change from $10.

    • No luck finding it on eBay. Yep Bagman can do it for $40 :D

      • $40? Dear me.

        • Yeah it's pretty pricey but seeing how the phone is being sold for $450+ on grey import stores, I'm pretty happy to pay $40 to get Australian warranty.

  • +1

It might be unlocked. Check the imei with vodafone the xperia z i bought says vodafone on the box but is unlocked.

  • You can unlock your phone on the Vodafone website for $ 25.00

    https://unlock.vodafone.com.au/voila/handsetunlock/self-serv…

    • That's only if I've owned the device for more than 6 months though.

  • How much did you get it for?

    • Hey, I got it for $385 ($374 + shipping)

      • Thanks. I went to Altona store and found a Xperia z buy the price was 199 and staff was rude.

  • Perhaps try Codes2unlock.com. If you can choose the make and model from their dropdown list and input the IMEI you'll get a quote that should be cheaper than Vodaphone. Unfortunately they were unable to unlock my new Lumia 640, but refunded the cost to me (USD 19.99) very quickly.
