There's been a huge amount of resentment (some probably justified) about DS staff etc.
I'd like to start with some positive experiences. Remember, missing out on bargains is a first world problem, none of us missed out on a bargain dialysis machine or anything so; perspective. I do it too mind you but am trying to have some perspective after the Big-W fail sale debacle! :)
I'd like to ask what the best bargain (in your opinion) you got was, and also good news stories. Also, huge thanks to Tightarse, without whom, I would be less in the dog house with my better half but also have less shiny gadgets!
I'll start!
My best bargain by far is weirdly..headphones! seriously, if DS has ANY Pioneer CL541 headphones left after what appears to be a few people bought them all for ebaying, then for $3, they blow my old and now after 9 years split Sennheiser CX400's out of the water!
I did manage to get a decent camera (by being polite) and also one for my father and one for my sister, which I'm stoked at!
I also replaced my aging tablet for web browsing with a Tab S 8.4.
The person I spoke to at my local stores (both) were both really polite, and they didn't hoard anything for themselves, in fact, one said he would have liked to have bought his girlfriend a new camera but by the time they got the opportunity they'd all sold out to customers, so it's not universal. They really appreciated politeness and patience, and went the extra mile due to this I think, more than anything.
All in all, I'm spent out on gadgets and it was some work too.
Oh, and bargain of the century for me was the camera I bought for me, the last (probably) D3300 SLK from Officeworks, the manager in store was great, and even threw in an open box Tab S official cover from Samsung for $5!
