Although this is an old model(2009-01), this price is not bad (maybe a little cheaper than boxing day's sale)
Do a search using "powershot a480 review" and you will find heaps of info. I'll just quote a sentence from the first hit, you can get all the gory details yourself. :)
"To put it bluntly, this is not a fast camera — expect slow flash recycle times, slow shot-to-shot times and a reasonable amount of shutter lag. This is only to be expected with an entry-level model though we would have enjoyed it if it was a little quicker in these areas."

You guys missed out the most important aspect of an elcheapo camera…
This thing has 10/10 IQ for the price! its FAR better than a sony 5MP camera from 2004, which costed me $540.
I bought two for $74 each from OW during the last sale. Great little things, unless you had unrealistic expectations. So read the reviews and read about how bad cheap cameras. These are Not Bad. =)
Had a look at this camera on boxing day (was just under a hundred then). The styling is horrible. Might be a good camera if you tend to lose them frequently. For 78 bucks, you get what you pay for.
A good cheap camera, Canon is one of the higher rated cameras, for most models and consistently in Choice , although this is the bottom of the range. Unfortunately the A480 can't use the free GPL released CHDK (Canon Hack Development Kit) which doe RAW and much more, can be found here
We started looking at the A480 when they were new, ending up spending the bit extra on the A560. A vastly superior camera. Pretty cheap for $78 though.
Hows the video quality on this unit? And is there a huge delay in taking snaps?
