  • cba boots probably means clutch & brake boots/shoes/pads and shafting is the drive shaft

    • That's what i think too after googling it. But worried could be something different n quickly ask it here.
Any idea how much to have it fixed/replaced?

  • +1

I'd say it means CV boots, and driveshaft. And he mistyped it in his ad.
CV boots are normal wear and tear, but then it depends if the guy did the job properly. If he hasn't put the boots and grease back on properly, or if the car has ABS and he hasn't put the rings back on properly then that's bit of a trouble.
However, the question is, why did it require a driveshaft fix? Also, when a driveshaft does give way, it can damage a lot of components around it. I'd skip this car unless you are getting a $50,000 car for $5000.

    • Thought the car must have had some front end collision. CV joint and boot makes more sense. About $300 a side probably? Been a while.

      • Yeah fixing the cv won't be that much of a problem or cost. You are quite close on the figures to do the job on your own, depending on the cv cost though.

Am more worried about the driveshaft. Did it damage anything around it before it gave way? Engine, gearbox, also even if the driveshaft was properly fixed or not.

  • I think she mistyped the ad and was looking for ugg boots and a good shafting.
