Woolworths & Everyday Rewards Card Question

So my parents received in the mail a new woolworths rewards card and threw the old everyday rewards card out. But are the cards any different? Cause I didn't receive a new card in the post, and I'm just assuming it's the same card same barcode, with a different pretty picture.

Does anyone have their old and new and can compare?

Yep the barcodes on the new WR and old EDR cards are the same.

You have to use the new card as of 1 Jan as the old one won't scan.
You won't get much out of the new rewards scheme, Woollies is already losing customers big time with the new rewards which gives you next to nothing. So I've moved to Coles and Aldi and NQR.

And management is taking the feedback seriously I think. My Woollies was empty last week, unusually quiet like never before.

    • why would the old card not scan? I've lost my new card… still have my old one! How is the old one different from the new one?

Your old card will scan till 31st Dec. After that, you cannot use it, and the supermarket cashier will just tell you to ask for replacement card for your lost new one. Old card works with Qantas frequent Flyer, new one no more affiliated with QFF and new one only gives $0.XX cents each time you buy their orange ticketed items. New card does not register any 'points' anymore when one buys petrol from Caltex, it will only allow the 4cts off fuel, (if you did a $30 shop at Woollies) , but no more points for the $ petrol bill.

OK sorry for the wrong info, it seems like 4 hrs ago, Woollies has backflipped and now going to allow QFF points to be earned after all, and further developments. BUt you will still need to use that new card on Jan 1st.

        • Many comments on here said that there was no difference in the two cards? Same barcodes and numbers?

        • I think that you still need to accumulate the woolworths dollars, and then you can either use them for a deduction on your bill, or convert them to Qantas points.

    • If the barcodes of the new and old are the same, why wouldn't it scan???

Additionally, the qantas points are so meaningless, I don't understand all the talk of people moving to Coles to get points. You spend thousands and get not a lot anyway. Go to woolies, use ur wish cards for a guaranteed 5% from entertainment book and that will save you more than any rewards points

I only ask coz I occasionally get emailed distinct offers, I certainly don't chase rewards points. Useless.

      • When I combine multiple targeted offers from Flybuys I ge more than a 5% discount in points which are then converted to flybuys dollars and used to pay for my next purchase. I get the 5% Wish cards as well but they're only worth using if I can get a Woolworths targeted offer as well.

  • cloudy, log into your account and check whether your correct address is listed. My partner's new card didn't arrive and when we logged into the account we discovered that a different address had been entered in the address field when all the accounts were converted from Everyday Rewards to Woolworths Rewards. If the wrong address is in your account you won't get mail out coupons or other offers if they decide to use this type of promotion.

  • Can someone confirm please that under the old system you received Qantas FF points for every shop over $30, but you now only receive Woolworths dollars for certain items.
Quote "Woolworths Dollars quickly add up. You’ll get offers on items you buy regularly, or we think you’ll like. These won’t always be marked in store – they’re automatically added to your Woolworths Dollars balance when you buy them and scan your card or shop online.
You can also earn Woolworths Dollars in BWS. You'll see orange tickets on a huge range of products in participating Woolworths supermarkets and BWS stores*."
From what I can see, on items that I regularly purchase, the Woolworths Dollars are only equal to the discount that I used to get when they were on sale anyway. And then I would get Qantas points on top if my shop was over $30.

You'll still earn 1 point per dollar over $30 until 31 December, 2015. The points won't show up properly on your receipt and you'll have to log into your Woolworths Rewards account to check the amount of points transferred over to QFF each week.

After January 1 the only way to get QFF points will be if you are offered these on targeted offers and it will be a choice between Woolworths dollars and QFF points.

Eventually next year you'll be able to convert $10 Woolworths dollars into 870 QFF points. The start date of this hasn't been advised yet.

There are two ways to earn Woolworths dollars. The first way is by buying the orange ticket items. You are correct about some of the orange ticket items being products that used to have the "extra special orange ticket savings" on them. Woolworths claim they will be increasing the amount of orange ticket items in their stores. These items are starting to include fresh fruit and vegetables and some fresh meat items.

The second way to earn Woolworths dollars is to take up targeted offers sent directly to your email. There are also a few general offers where you can get Woolworths dollars. Check the weekly catalogue for more details.
