Car Vinyl Wrap in Sydney

Hi guys,

I couldn't find anything searching on the forum, any suggestions where I could get the roof of my car wrapped in Sydney at a reasonable price?

my old car got the roof all faded due to the sun and I'm looking at applying some vinyl to my new car, plus I like how it looks.

If anyone knows how to do the job well I wouldn't mind it, plus there's a friend who would like to do the same thing so 2 cars possibly :)

Example of what I'm after:

Cheers!

  • Have you thought about doing it yourself? I bought myself a metre of gloss black Avery dennison for $60 and took about 3 hours to do it. Watched a couple videos on YouTube. Roof is straight forward even if you have a sunroof.

    • hey mate, yeah I did think about it.. but its a brand new car and I'm not sure how hard is to remove the antenna. did you have to do it? mine is a mazda 3. I'm very comfortable to work on motorcycles but cars I'm not very familiar with, plus my garage is not suitable..

trying to prevent it on a new car? doesn't it make sense?!

@lucas001: the roof on my previous car was faded due to sun exposure. I have now bought a new car and don't want it to get a sun faded roof.

          Exactly my point :)

Aha! I get it now! :)

    • I will ask for a quote.. not sure how much I should expect to pay for it. thanks mate

      • Any more than $300 would be too much. Material costs for a roof shouldn't be more than $100 max.

  • Hello Lucas,
Have a look at Colour Dip n Peel on Google.
I own the company and our product is a liquid vinyl wrap - easily sprayed on and peeled off if you want to change the colour!
See photos from one of our customers Damo who had bad clear delamination on his Honda - email me at [email protected] and I will send you photos and details - John

    • Thanks mate, how long would it last on(looking good)?

    • waiting for your reply via email.. I'm not sure if I like the results I saw on youtube tho.. it doesn't look smooth when applied on the roof.

  • All vinyl wraps fry in the sun. The only question is, how long. Paint is far more UV and heat stable.

Wrap…who's had it last longer than 3 months parked IN THE SUN?

    • yeah my car is parked in the sun all day until 3/4pm when I get some shade… I'm keen on trying some plastidip, colour dip etc. I will try first on my mirrors and see the results. now sure how smooth/glossy it will be as I've never seen it in person. I've spray painted motorcycles before with good results using a spray can so it might work.

    • I have, my gloss black vinyl wrap seems fine to me. Just have to keep it cleaned and waxed.

  • Hello Lucas - check our Gumtree sites - We have sample kit options to try on speed shapes - see what your colour will look like out in the sun against your car - I have emailed you an attachment - Thanks John

    • thanks mate but I'm reading mixed reviews about this product on roofs… I'm not sure how its going to look like and I'm not too keen on risking… but thanks anyway.

  • You may be reading reviews of Plasti Dip which is rubber based - ours is Vinyl - same material as wrap is made of.
