I have my cable outlet in the living room and I want to move my pc to my bedroom which is about 10metres in distance. I use bigpond cable modem. What kind of cord do I need to buy? I'm a newbie at this stuff

I'd do option 2. Very easy.
1) Leave the modem where it is and add a wireless card to your PC.
2) Powerline Ethernet adapters
3) Alternatively buy a network cable but it'll be a trip hazard and you may not be able to close the doors..
4) have network ports installed next to the cable outlet and in your bedroom, then use network cable to connect your modem to the network port and PC to the network port.
