I just booked the air conditioning job with this company because my relatives insisted and it has very good google review. I have only checked with Bunnings before this company and they were very unclear about their quote.
The quote I booked was $1990 for a split system1.5kw Fujitsu,wall mounted(for 1 room). I now saw an advertisement on facebook giving the same price for a Samsung 5kw.
I'm just wondering if people have the same and what's your experience in this area.

Seems expensive, a local installer is offering a 2.5kw Mitsu supplied and installed fully for $1300.

I waited 20% Good guys/Masters ebay deals top that with the cash back from the manufacturer.
The installation itself back to back should be 500-600 (max).

Did you mean 1.5HP ?, Is there 1.5Kw Split aircon from a branded company?.
Buy a split when you have 20% off from ebay and if fortunate get a cash back. And then get a installer to put it for you .
$500 for a standard back to back in very reasonable .
Depends how difficult the install is. But as a rule of thumb the Above seems about right, maybe add $100 for the wall mounting
1300 Installed Max you should pay.

The GG quoted me $955 for back to back install, plus $175 for roof bracket that is required under new regs. Add $150 for decommission and disposal of old unit and price is much higher than the $500 for a standard install people are mentioning.
I've been quoted similar prices to the GG install from 3 other places. The GG price for the actual air con unit was good.
A back to back install on ground level should be around $500. How much was your air conditioner? I'm expecting to pay around $1300 installed.
