Which MFI Lightning Cable Is The Best One, Value Wise?

I am in search of finding Lightning cable for someone I know, she has already poured $100s of dollars onto cheap over the counter lightning cable as far as I could see. Since it's ridiculous for her to spend that much money on cables (or anyone to be honest), I am thinking of getting her a reasonable one (and do what people do with the pen spring and heat shrink tube to reinforce the connector bits).

Spending $10~20 at this stage I think is reasonable for her, because she've already poured so much into the cables.
I was thinking the official Apple ones, but I think they are too fragile.

Anyways, could you guys help me on this one? Is the Tikbro one alright? Should I look into Belkin one?
Is there a specific brand I should look into?

Thanks.

  • if those are apple brand then should come with 1yr warranty

    • Her cables were all old or dodgy 3rd party one.

Thanks for the recommendations, though I think I need at least a 1m long cable for her.

      • I think an USB extension cable is not that expensive

  • i bought a few tikbro ones, i think in May for $10 and imo they are much better than the apple ones.
they feel a lot more sturdy especially the tip that plugs into the phone

    • +1

So do you think the tikbro one is worth buying? I've actually bought one already, hopefully it's good.

      • yep definitely

  • I've been using the Tikbro braided cables and found them to have lasted me longer than any other original and knock off cable I've tried.

If you use the phone in bed or on the couch with the cable plugged, the cable will usually be bent and cause stress on the connector. With the Tikbro cables, I haven't had any issues at all yet, just straighten it out again and it's good.

Keep in mind that they're slightly larger at the connector than original cables so if your friend is using a case, she might need to take it off to charge.

I bought 3 in May and 2 in August and all 5 are still going along great. I keep one at work, one in the car and the others are shared in the household.
I'm just waiting for another of their $9.99 sales so my partner can keep one at work and for travels.

    • From what I could deduce, I think that's the cause. She does use it lying down half the time.
I might just grab the Tikbro one, use that pen spring method which apparently stops the cable from bending too much and see how much that helps.

    • Nice, it looks rigid enough as well :)

Thanks, I might buy that one as well (just in case she goes through the tikbro one).
