  • Oh no… I've already bought the Melbourne Watch Company Carlton on sale, and the Orient Bambino v2 from Massdrop this week… can I hold off on this? It's a good price (though lets face it, no one ever pays RRP for an Orient).

great find :) was looking for something like that. cheers

  • Can this code be used on any other watches?

    • +1

Yes, complete list here that will ship to Australia.
The Ray is a "lighning deal" then a 25% discount code as well. So it's a sale on a sale.

Oh God, it works on the Laco/1925.

EDIT: Bought both. Merry Christmas to me, and good will to OP!

        • That Laco is a nice watch, have you received them yet?
What did you end up paying for each in Aussie dollars?

          @28Degrees:

Hi - sorry for the delay, I saw my watches were due to arrive yesterday and so thought I'd hold off until I received them. I now have both watches and am very happy with them both.

The Orient Ray is a substantial piece of kit for the price, absolutely amazing value. I'm not too keen on stainless steel diver watches generally as they just don't suit me as a person and bought this more as a 'backup' because it was such a good price. I was only really expecting it to be something I wore if I went away or was worried about damaging, losing it etc. HOWEVER, I've switched it over onto a 'Bond' NATO strap and it looks absolutely fantastic! I can't believe the value if I'm honest and am wearing it right now. So pleased with it.

The Laco Pilot A is something I'd been after for a long time and it every bit as nice as I expected it to be. The one downside with it is that as traditionally they were worn over a jacket (being worn in flight) it does seem to be a bit large on me. I'm going to have to have an extra hole punched in the strap for a decent fit on my admittedly small wrist. It is a chunky thing but I knew that when I got it. Beautiful stitched strap on it really looks the part. Again, super-pleased with it for the price.

Not sure about my AUD prices as I can't get on my online banking at the moment. In USD including delviery to Australia they were $262.52 (Laco) and $75.84 (Ray) so $340ish (USD) all up. Quite the bargain as the Laco had been around AUD450 alone when I was checking in earnest a few months ago.

This price is ridiculous. Thanks Op. Bought one.

I have been looking for a Seiko skx. This might stop me for a while.

  • How does this brand compare amongst others? Is this actually made in Japan or China?

    • +2

Made in Japan, they also use their own in-house movements which is unusual, particularly at this price-point. Orient watches are pretty widely considered a bit of a bargain for what you get quality-wise in the watch community so with this double-stacked deal you're getting a lovely watch for a tremendous price.

      • Would it be inline with brands such as Citizen and Seiko?

        • Yes, they're all about on par. Orient are actually now wholly owned by Seiko but allowed to do their own thing and keep their identity and tech internal.

        • @zfa:

          Hi zfa,

What do you think of the Mako? http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001EWEQ3A?psc=1&redirect=t…

          At the price of $200~

        • 3xCamel says at USD$142.50 - it's at the top of the price range at the moment so it's not a bargain, if that's what you mean.
Did you see my post here for some nice Citizen Watches on special atm?

        • @28Degrees:

I used Parcelpoint and luckily the pharmacy closed an hour prior the pickup.
