  If you are a cricket fan a $30 recharge along with a Long Life plan which last for 6-odd months you will get access to a free Cricket Australia live pass with data-free streaming as well as access to Optus Perks which pays of immediately (i.e. Netflix 3 months and Cricket australia live pass has already saved me $36).

  Under T&Cs it says Coles Prepaid is not eligible. I wonder if that's a mistake or coming??? Update: I see Coles sells Coles-packaged Optus SIMs with $10 credit - I get it now… It also says the number will be deactivated if not charged in a certain time frame so if they deactivate Optus Perks I suppose new sim cards are the solution.

  The $45 ZTE Smart Fit was really good value with $20 Google Play credit and Optus Perks :)

    I don't see a reason why it should not.

    II activated mine in Dec and still have access to Optus Perks.

  Old thread, but I'll keep it going. You are forced to add money to your Optus sim now to activate it now, minimum $10.

  If you are lucky you can get a discount new sim with $10 on it, I pick up one for $5 from Officeworks.

    What's the expiry like on the account? Do i need to add funds periodically to keep it active?

      From memory, you need to recharge every 6 months. Still good for cheap tickets.

      I'm an Optus customer now anyway, so don't need to worry about any of this.

    I think Woolworths has it on 1/2 price this week. I might be able to pick one up for $5 as well and enjoy Optus Perks! :D

  Anyone know if it works with sims that use the optus network? E.g catch connect sim.
