    This deal sucks.

Wii games are good prices too.

    • The joke was in the Dyson. It went whoooosh over two people's heads… like the sound of a Dyson… sucking…

Good prices for two new Nintendo 1st party titles. Both games have, sadly, received terrible reviews though.

    • The reviews weren't really objective, they are both solid titles contrary to the snarkier critic crowd. Some misinformation in their reviews for whatever reason. Same with Devils Third. Sonic Boom is really the only game that kind of remotely deserved the kind of criticism being dealt by the hipsters.

      • Surely joking? even gamexplain (largest nintendo fanboy youtube channel) hated these games

        • +2

I don't benefit from it succeeding, however as someone that enjoys Xbox 360 buts gives Nintendo props where deserved, the Gamexplain coverage previews had a bit of slanted mis-info and they generally cater to a "nerdier" Nintendo crowd which frowns upon games that are too "mainstream", so variety / party games are a no no. Hence why Xenoblade is getting overpraise to a degree.

The Gameexplain channel are comprised of aging gamers with a fondness for older gamecube stuff, while generally going the negative clickbait route out of ease where applicable. They have stated previously they don't necessarily review games fairly but on their jaded tastes. Alot of these channels go the overtly negative route to compete with other Youtube Clickbait channels, sites / youtube "reviewers" for ad revenue.
Alot of these other sites also copy/ paste their talking points and repack them sadly…

I posted this previous quickly, This breaks down the content of Mario Tennis Ultra a bit more in depth and fairly: sorry if this is TLDR but its relatively accurate all things considered if your interested :

" It has three minigame/alternative modes and its content is more streamlined in some ways but most complaints were big nitpicks that were copy/pasted from one outlets review/preview. Other games in the series had more minigames, but this still had essentially three.. Items returned as chance shot moves. One mode was the Mushroom battle, and its featured in the main single player mode, obviously theres Amiibo modes/training, online, online ranking, classic/simple modes, Megaball rally mode, knockout challenge…

The coin based / never ending Knockout Challenge gives the game a decent amount of replay, and alot of people enjoy this Smash Bro influenced style in Smash, in reality alot of people don't care that much about the cups, i see why people complained tho… Story is nice, but for this kind of game it really doesn't seem as essential, i think story mode in Smash worked far better, this is just a fun tennis game : )

People claimed there was only "1 court" which wasn't true, there was a variety of unlockable ones, they do toe the line between real tennis and wacky versions. Might not have been as wacky as predessors but its still there…. The game aesthetically might not have included stadiums, but still feels like an overblown complaint…

The Amiibo training/leveling modes gave the game alot of replay, and in reality alot of people have Ammibos (many even without the console have a lot for some reason), as does the Unlockable challenges, and the additional harder difficultly modes, characters…

The Classic/ Simple mode allows you to play closer to the N64 version, without chance moves or just play without Megamushrooms….

Sorry if thats jumbled, just trying to type quickly, hope its understandable, but yeah reviews were not particularly fair. Not that they are ever really accurate positive or negative… And no friend list in online was issue, but hey its free on Wii U and has a ranking mode. Not saying it was perfect but most of the hate was due to less minigame modes, while still not acknowledging the decent amount there… "

All things considered, people should decide for themselves, but critics should strive towards being as objective as possible towards a game/review. I think critics kind of poorly explained what made Watchdogs a good game, which lead to some backlash even if "gamers" underrated it to a degree. Sadly when they have x amount of time plus ties to focus on games reliant on larger ad revenue and an expected larger consumer base due to make or break budgets, you don't really get much outside of paid advertisements and hyperbole at times…

The games are great, and the price is really good. The bundle may require an additional pack of cards for a couple of multiplayer games, though there like 5 bucks a pack.

just watched some reviews for mario tennis smash, and they all say its terrible lol

  • +1

For animal crossing, the two amiibo figures and the pack of cards cost $23, leaving the game costing $26.

The question is this: is animal crossing worth $26 to you?

    • No

Are you a fan of board games like Monopoly? If yes, it is worth it.
