Best Frequent flyer programme

Hi,
I am looking for some advise.

I have 60,000 Qantas points which equals to approx $350 wish gift card.

My question -
1. can I transfer these points to any other Qantas partner airlines points programme which give me better reward then this?

  1. I heard that if i fly virgin airlines then I should claim krisflyer points instead of velocity points because Krisflyer point has more dollar value then velocity points. so, If I travel by qantas or any qantas partner which points should I claim and If I travel by Virgin or any Virgin airlines partner which points should I claim to get maximum benefit?

Reward I am looking for is gift cards or discount on economy class flight ticket.
I usually take 2-3 return flights (includes domestic and international).

Thanks in advance.

  • Qantas points befter used for cabin upgrades
60,000 points is also a one way trip to japan

You need to think about what an upgrade is worth to you, not the price that Qantas charges other people for it.
You can often do better by just taking the money (gift card) and purchasing air tickets when good specials come up instead.

I believe that if you do use the points to book with Qantas and are paying the fees cash, that it works out better to book (on Qantas's web page) a flight that is operated by an airline with cheaper fees.

  • I dont know if anyone has watch/read about Ben Schlappig.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sPy38U3aSTs

Basically, He is one of the frequent flyer… he suggests to choose the right credit card provider (which gives maximum points) and choose the right frequent flyer programme. It means by choosing the right frequent flyer one can take maximum advantage.

    Any experts?

Take some time to read up. Well worth it: http://www.australianfrequentflyer.com.au/community/

But if you just want to quickly offload QFF points why not sell them for $0.01 each (I.e. $600 cash) through ozbargain classifieds?

  • 60k points… can be used to redeem for Emirates A380 business class from MEL-SIN
