      buy em and freeze them

There's always money in the banana stand.

    • That was as a result of a natural disaster in australia's prime Banana growing plantation. Things are looking up!

Have to be a banana not to buy that

If I buy 1/4 kilo (two bananas) and choose to pay cash (2cents), will that be rounded down to zero? If so, just put through endless consecutive transactions of 250g for free bananas.

    • +2

I bow before thee, oh genius master…

    • If you spend between 1c and 4c it would likely just round up to 5c. But worth a go.

    • +1

Hmmm Just had a play on our POS system, yep it will round down $0.02 to $0.00 on a CASH payment…. So yay free bananas!

    8c rounds up to 10c…

What would 1 Banana get rounded to if paying cash? 0c or 5c?

    • Hmmm Just had a play on our POS system, yep it will round down $0.02 to $0.00 on a CASH payment…. So yay free bananas!

If I bought 1kg and paid cash it would cost 10c but I bought just under 2kg in 2 separate transactions it would also cost 10c.

I love how OzB is trying to get the price of 8c/kg bananas even lower, by doing different kinds of rounding.

No Cashrewards? It's almost like we're getting ripped off here.

I might buy 10kg of them and throw them at the Monkeys running the OPSM sale…

  • +1

I'm confused. What size are they? I need something in the photo for scale.

    • +2

Unfortunately, banana is the universal unit measurement device of the internet

    Try Matt Shirvington

  • Any deals on a banana eating monkey

  • May as well give them out for free.

Bought a whole box for $1.05. Also bought a tray of strawberries (18 punnets, yes 18) for $10. Going to freeze for smoothies etc.

    That's what she said.

    It's in frankston peoples.

You'll be robbed at knife point for your 8c before you can buy any bananas

    • +1

I predict a run on these…..and tomorrow every Bogan bloke in Franga will have one stuffed in down the front of his tight black jeans. Given it is NYE and all……….

At this price why not stuff an entire hand (of Bananas) down there….

    • +3

I always carry a 10 cent coin in my shoe, so I could still get a kilo of bananas…unless they also take my shoes.

  • +1

What? I had to pay 10 cents a kilo there last week! Got ripped off.

  • This explains the photo doing rounds on Facevook of 16c/kg bananas at a Woolies in Frankaton..

    • +2

      Reely?

How fast were you running when you look that photo?

  • +3

Walked by this place before, there seemed to be a group of OzBargainers arguing with a store attendant next to the banana stand, which had gone back to $2.50/kg or so. Should have taken a photo!

    • Classic:)
