Centrelink Newstart Allowance New Applications

Recently Centrelink sent me a notification regard my application which was created on the 12/12/15, my form was rejected due to non clear bank statements cause I did not scan them properly. Also I was told to fill up the enployment separation certificate form. They said I would need to fill this up due to annul leav, sick leave, or some sort of payment that needs to be checked if I did get payed.

If I submitted more proper statements indicating that my last pay was least a couple weeks ago and no more further payments have been payed since I'm unemployed, am I qualified form Newstart allowance? I was not payed any special payments like annual cause I left my job due to medical issues, and my medical certificate was sent to Centrelink, So my annual payment was voided, fair enough.
Also my resignation email letter was emailed to my employer on the 11/12/15 and I received a reply acceptance of my letter. This was also already sent to Centrelink already, the lady at the branch advised me to send my bank statement and letter again cause the way I scanned it was notclear.

Also do they check the employment seperation details like calling the employer? Cause I don't really have a great relationship with my manager, if I cannot get anyone from my previous job to sign this, is there anything that can be done?

    regardless what your relationship with your ex employer is. they are obligated to provide accurate information to the australian government if requested. they could probably stall that process of information though

    Couple of things you should be aware of

    1) Centrelink will require the ESC before you will be paid, if you fail to provide one of if your employer refuses to give one they will contact the employer to verify the information the ESC would contain. As a rule if you provide a ESC they will randomly contact the employer to verify the information, they also check with the ATO to confirm the amounts paid claimed on the form match what you say.

    2) if you resigned from a position you will have a 8-12 week waiting period before payments will commence. You say you resigned due to medical reasons, if you are going onto unemployment (as in newtstart without a sickness allowance or benefit) then this waiting period will apply. If you are going on a payment related to your illness then it will not. They are quite strict about paying to people who have left a job voluntarily

    3) get the documents they require and should you qualify for the payment they will back date it to the date you made the original claim (within reason)

    Does anyone know how long you have before a claim expires? Because on the 15th january I received a letter saying for me to submit all supporting documents before 29th January, but when I spoke to an operater Today i as told I had 14days to complete it or it will expired, and she insisted I restarted and resubmit everything again .. Cause it's beyond that time frame from December to now.

    Iv submitted my claim in early December and had a short interview and was ask to supply documents online, I submitted non insufficient documents and been dragged till january. One of their branches told me what I needed to provide which I did last week, and another operator last week told me as long it's been summits, it would take up to two weeks for an update in the mail or my email of the progress.

      Iv been applying since December nothing has come up so been using this as an extra for time being.

      There's also a difference between "I can't get the job I want" and "I can't get a job". If you fall into the second, keep trying. Call the contact on the application and ask them questions about the role. Get out there and speak to cafe/restaurant/bar managers. Call the number listed at local building sites and enquire about labouring work.

      Plenty of cleaning jobs everywhere. You can do that while you find the job you want.

      What an insane system. Fortunately I grew up in a world where the Government believed in supporting students because they knew they would get the money back in taxes; this meant I haven't had to deal with his shit for a long time. Best of luck with the system and getting a job.
